Youth Work Experience Program

OTTP recently completed its "Summer Work Experience Program" for out-of-school youth ages 14 - 24 residing in Los Angeles County. Youth participants were eligible for up to 220 hours of Paid Work Experience.


Program eligibility is as follows:

Must be foster youth (ages 14-19); OR
Must be a food stamp recipient (ages 14-19); OR
Must be a Calworks recipient (ages 14-19); OR
Must be former foster youth (ages 18-24); OR
Must be a general relief recipient (ages 18-24)

All youth must meet the following “Needy Family Definition” established by DPSS:

Must live with parent or an adult relative care giver
Must have income that does not exceed 200% of the federal poverty level
Must be a related minor child living in the home


All youth must be able to provide the required documentation. Youth under the age of 18 must be able to provide a work permit. OTTP's "Summer Youth Employment Program" is made possible through a contract with the Los Angeles County Department of Community & Senior Services and is funded by the Emergency Contingency Fund of Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services in conjunction with American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
